Samantha Varvel on Body Confidence, Motherhood, and Her Limited-Edition Solly Print

Take a leisurely scroll through Samantha Varvel’s Instagram and you might assume she’s a professional interior designer who draws heavy inspiration from Nancy Meyers. But you’d be mistaken. Just a few years ago she was a Vice President in the marketing division at Goldman Sachs. Now she’s a full-time content creator sharing glimpses of her life with over 400K followers across Instagram, TikTok, and Substack. And all those beautiful interiors you see on her feed? They’re from her own home, courtesy of her impeccable taste.

So when we learned she was expecting baby number 3, we knew we had to partner with Samantha to create a limited edition print that reflects her signature style. The result is Petite Fleurs, a delicate floral that draws inspiration from antique textiles and vintage block prints—and the perfect match for this meaningful chapter in her life.

Below, she shares the story behind the print, how her relationship with her body has shifted across three pregnancies, and why this season of motherhood feels especially significant.

For those not lucky enough to know you, tell us a little about who you are and what you do.

Hi! I’m Samantha and recently became a mom of three. I left my job on Wall Street about four years ago as my career as a content creator was taking off and have never looked back. It started with sharing my nursery decor when I had my first baby, and since then I’ve enjoyed continuing to share the things I find beautiful, across style, home design, and hosting/entertaining!

How did you become connected with Solly?
I first learned of Solly prior to having my first baby as the baby wrap was recommended by so many of my dearest mom friends as something they couldn’t live without. Once I had my own baby, I quickly learned how special babywearing can be and especially the cozy feeling of having your baby close in a Solly baby wrap.

What have you loved most about the Solly products you've used?
It’s truly the most buttery-soft fabric. During pregnancy and postpartum I’ve loved wearing the women’s pajama set at all times of day and night through all the ups and downs of this phase of life.

What was the inspiration behind your Petite Fleurs print?
We were looking to create a print with muted hues to match the mood of late summer/early fall, and I wanted to incorporate a floral pattern. We pulled inspiration from antique French textiles and vintage block prints. The talented team at Solly took this vision to create the perfect print that I couldn’t be more in love with.

Thoughts on body changes during pregnancy?
I’ve gained nearly 60 pounds with each of my three pregnancies, and have learned that it’s all part of the process for my body. It was an adjustment at first, but as the months went on, I’ve  truly never felt more confident than I did in the latter half of the first year of my babies’ lives. The whole experience had taught me to appreciate what my body can do and how it brought me the best thing in my life.

How would you describe your style?
I’ve always considered my style to be very classic, but I certainly gravitate toward a great floral and lots of color.

Your home (and your feed!) are full of such beautiful, aspirational moments. What’s a less-than picture-perfect moment you’ve experienced recently?

I certainly treat my Instagram as a place to share beautiful moments and the things I find inspirational. It certainly doesn’t represent the “real” everyday moments of life, because as we all know, life with little children is as chaotic and messy as it is beautiful! I open up a little more on my Substack to talk about the “real” things we deal with as moms.

Any go-to baby shower gifts?

The Solly Wrap makes a perfect one. :)

You shared that this is your last baby. What made you feel “done” and how did that change your approach to this pregnancy?
It’s such a personal decision, but three really just feels like the right number for us! I feel so at peace with the idea of being complete as a family of five.

Favorite fall recipes?

Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!

You lived in five different countries and multiple states before the age of 18—how has that impacted your approach to parenting?

I think it’s given me perspective that there are many ways to raise children to be happy, and hopefully taught me to be more open-minded and ready to embrace whoever my children become.
