The Soft Carrier is certified for use with little ones from 10 to 45 pounds. For optimal safety and comfort, baby should also be long enough that the top panel sits at or below the bottom of their ear—with their airways above—when seated in the carrier. Typically, babies who wear size 3-month clothing or bigger fit properly in the carrier.

We recommend The Soft Carrier for babies 3 months and up whose earlobes are at or above the top panel of the carrier when seated in it. (This helps ensure their airways are clear.)

The carrier can be used for toddlers up to 45 pounds. The maximum seat width is 13”.

The Soft Carrier is made for front and back carrying with baby facing in. The Soft Carrier is not a forward-facing baby carrier—and that’s by design! You can read more of our thoughts on forward-facing here.

The Soft Carrier comes with a chest clip for safe back carrying that can be conveniently secured in a hidden shoulder strap for storage. As with other carriers designed for baby to be worn on back, back carrying in the Soft Carrier requires baby to be able to sit unassisted (usually around 6 months) and takes some practice. Before trying it, we recommend that the wearer first gets comfortable using the Soft Carrier in the front carry position, and then practices back carrying in a safe space and/or with an extra set of hands for assistance.

Our waistbelt is apron-style, so when you first buckle the carrier around your waist, it hangs down like an apron would. It’s designed with multiple layers of interfacing and stitching rather than stiff foam insert which provides plenty of support while molding comfortably to your midsection without digging in.

Yes! The seat can be easily adjusted before or after baby is placed in the carrier. Simply scrunch the fabric (no snaps or Velcro here!) until it’s the appropriate width for your baby, supporting them from knee to knee for optimal hip-safe positioning. The fully extended seat is 13”.

The Soft Carrier is designed for bigger babies 10-45 pounds—usually at least 3 months of age—who are ready for a bit more support. It provides a quick on-and-off experience that makes it perfect for errand-running, park playdates, and beyond while maintaining the familiar comfort and buttery-soft feel of the Wrap.
