Our Story

I'm Solly Baby’s founder, Elle, and I'm so glad you're here. Originally from Texas, I now live on a little three acre farm in Bonsall, California with my husband and partner, Jared, and our four kids.

I never thought I'd start a company. I barely graduated high school and I couldn't have dreamt this whole thing up if I'd tried, but there’s nothing more meaningful to me than bringing families together comfortably, confidently, and happily. They say necessity is the mother of all invention, and Solly was born from my own needs and experience as a mom. My first baby had colic and reflux and loved being worn, but every carrier left me with a headache and a backache—so I decided to make something better. So, in 2010 while pregnant with my second baby, Solomon, I stitched my first Solly Baby Wrap on a $50 serger from Craigslist. Carrying him in that wrap while my toddler clutched my hand, I knew I’d made something special.

I worked during nap times, moved furniture to cut fabric, and kept tweaking until the wrap was as beautiful as it was functional. The first year of selling on Etsy was rough, but I kept going. Three years in, social media helped us take off—and we haven’t looked back.

More than a decade (and two more babies) later, Solly Baby has grown into a global brand. Our wrap has been named “Best Wrap” by The New York Times’ Wirecutter, chosen as a top gift by Vogue, and featured everywhere from Parents Magazine to the Today Show.

As my kids have grown, so has Solly Baby. What began as one beloved wrap is now a full collection of thoughtfully designed essentials for parents and babies. With the help of like-minded partners, we’ve been able to reach more families while I stay closely involved in every key decision. Our small but mighty team—mostly moms (plus one great finance dad!)—pours care into every detail. Through it all, our mission remains the same: to help you carry your little one through every season with confidence.
