This month we’re focusing on Nourishment. What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word "nourishment”?
I think of all the aspects that go into having a nourished lifestyle: speaking kindly to myself, relationships with family and friends, how I am nourishing myself with food, moving my body with intention, etc. I take nourishment with a holistic approach and all factors come into play.
What do you do to nourish your mind?
I love getting out into nature and make sure I do it once a day. The stillness that nature brings, whether it’s at the beach or amongst oak trees, gives me a peace unlike any other.
How do you nourish your body?
I nourish my body through cooking mindful meals at home. I love going to the farmers market or my local farmstand, getting a bounty of produce, and cooking an intentional meal in the kitchen to share with my family.
What nourishes your soul?
What nourishes my soul is being inspired. Whether creating a new recipe with beautiful vegetables, walking a new nature trail, the changing of the seasons, or a book I’ve read, my soul is refreshed when I feel inspired.
If you could share one piece of advice for new mamas about nourishment after baby—whether for their mind, body or soul—what would it be?
Just trust and listen to your intuition. You know what’s best for you and your baby! Everyone is going to try to give you advice and tell you ways to do things, but mama instinct is so strong.
