ICYMI: Cream Chequer, our collaboration print with Madi Nelson, is officially back (just in time for her to become a mama of four)! But before welcoming her new arrival, we sat down to chat about her print (it’s our most requested restock ever), what she's packing in her hospital bag for baby No. 4, and motherhood advice.

What’s a time in the last week when your heart has felt full?
Nesting and getting the nursery ready for our last baby!

Favorite thing about your Solly Wrap?
The wrap is a newborn must-have for me—it’s so comforting for them to be so close to you and such a great way to bond with your baby.

What has been different about this pregnancy than your others?
This is my fourth pregnancy and has definitely been the hardest on my body. It has also flown by!

What are you most excited about with baby No. 4?
So excited to meet this baby and know who they are. Waiting to find out the gender is the best surprise of your life!

You recently shared this will be your last baby. What made you know that you were “done”?
This pregnancy was a surprise, but we knew if we had a fourth we would be complete!

Any words of wisdom for new or expecting moms?
Soak in each stage, memorize their little profiles, hands, and feet. Know that everything is just a season, and it all goes by so quickly.

How is packing your hospital bag for baby No. 4 different than how you packed it for your first? This is my fourth time around, so I’ve learned by now what you do/don’t need, the items I love that the hospital provides, etc.

Give us the scoop: What are your "do needs" for your hospital bag?

For me:

  • Pillow + cozy blanket
  • Mini tripod
  • Extra long phone charger
  • Portable speaker
  • Skincare/toiletries
  • Towel + face towel
  • Friday Mom Delivery gown
  • Nursing bra + nipple butter
  • Fuzzy socks + flip flops
  • Comfy outfit for going home

For baby:
  • Sound machine + nightlight
  • 1 pair of mittens
  • Swaddle (Solly Swaddles are amazing!)
  • Announcement outfit/accessories
  • Going home outfit
  • Fuzzy blanket
  • Paci

Any rules of thumb when it comes to packing your hospital bag?
Bring items that will make your stay more comfortable and feel like you’re at home—your own pillow, a cozy blanket, a speaker, comfy socks…even some eye patches/a face mask!

Last-minute or pack-in-advance kind of gal?
Pack-in-advance! I like to be prepared!

Your collection has been a huge success with the Solly community and one of our most requested restocks. What was the inspiration behind the print?
I always love a neutral option that can work with everything! This print is simple, fun, and can be worn year-round!

Do you have an aesthetic “vision” with each baby (from clothes to nursery and all the in-betweens)?
It depends on what’s currently inspiring me, but with this baby I went with a more traditional vibe for the nursery! We painted the walls a pale green pinstripe and it turned out so cute!!
