5 Tips for a Fuss Free Holiday Season

2k6a2632-2 With the holiday season right around the corner we rounded up a few tips so that you moms can not only prepare for, but enjoy this time of year! Whether you’re a family of three or six or more and more we want to help you savor this holiday season without skipping a beat. Feel free to share your tips in the comments too! line_less-white-space 1. Shortcut your way to hostess-with-the-mostess. As someone who truly loves to cook and bake it's easy to let this season becoming overwhelming. I want to make everything possible from scratch, but I’ve learned over the years that it’s okay to take shortcuts every now and then and that it just may save your sanity. With a few simple ingredients and a cast iron skillet this apple crisp recipe is the perfect quick solution!   paired   2. Babysit your friends kids and let them do the same. I’ve always found it extremely helpful when trying to get the house together before the holidays to have some kid free time to really clean and prepare without distraction. Set up a time you can take your pal's kids of her hands and then let her do the same for you. It always feels so great to have the help and to help out a friend who could use it! 3. When your guests ask what they can bring - tell them something. It’s easy to want to take everything on to create the perfect meal that you’ve been dreaming of, but when push comes to shove letting everyone pitch in will really relieve some stress. My thought process is that people don’t offer help unless they really want to help, so let them make your holiday a little smoother!   2k6a2675-2   4. Wear your Solly Baby wrap! It may seem obvious, but I can’t tell you how many notes I get from mamas that say that their wrap saved them through the busiest seasons of their life. Don’t have family or friends close by this year? Whether you need your hands free for cleaning, baking or entertaining - the wrap is here to help! 5. Give everyone a task. This one is tough as a mother, especially a host, but it’s important to me that I get to enjoy this Thanksgiving too. I highly recommend working together as a family and assigning everyone a little task - this is super fun for the older kids and keeps them entertained as well! Tasks I’ve delegated over the years are gathering coats, setting the table, welcoming visitors at the front door and showing guests where they can grab something to drink.   2k6a2719-2 Photography: Max Wanger; Food Styling: Sarah Anne Bargatze Richardson; Wearing: Petal
