The Solly System includes both of our bestselling carriers: The Solly Baby Wrap for those first months with your newborn and The Solly Baby Soft Buckle Carrier for when your little one is ready for more structured support, usually somewhere between the 3-to 6-month mark. Together, the two carriers provide everything you need to enjoy safe, supported babywearing from birth through toddlerhood.
The Solly Baby Wrap is safety-tested for babies weighing 8 to 25 pounds, and is especially loved by parents during the newborn stage. We recommend going “from womb to wrap,” when possible, to support a gentle, comforting transition to the world. C-section moms love The Wrap because, unlike many other carriers, it can be used immediately after a C-section, with your care provider’s green light, because it sits above the incision site. If you or your baby have any unique medical needs or concerns, it’s always best consult your care provider before using The Wrap.
The Soft Buckle Carrier is certified for use with little ones from 10 to 45 pounds. For optimal comfort and safety, baby should be long enough that the top panel sits at or below the bottom of their ear—with their airways above—when seated in the carrier. Typically, babies who wear size 3-month clothing or bigger fit properly in the carrier. The maximum seat width is 13”.
Many parents find that having both The Wrap and The Soft Buckle Carrier makes babywearing easier and more comfortable as their little one evolves. The Wrap is lightweight, breathable, and buttery-soft, providing a cozy closeness that’s ideal for easing your newborn’s transition from womb to world. The Soft Carrier shares the lightweight breathability and softness of The Wrap, but incorporates premium European linen and light padding into the design to provide added support for bigger babies and toddlers. Most parents use The Wrap during the newborn phase for the first several months after baby is born. Around three to six months, as baby gets heavier, is often the perfect time to begin transitioning to The Soft Buckle Carrier for a more supportive carry. For a proper fit and safe wear, baby should be long enough that their airways are above the top of the body panel when seated in the buckle carrier. Many families find they switch between the two carriers for a while, depending on the activity. The Wrap might stay in rotation for contact naps and snuggly moments at home, while The Soft Buckle Carrier shines during errands and any time you need quick ins and outs.
